Dander

Daniel ‘Dander’ Kurek is a 15 year old tech house DJ/producer. He started DJing at the age of 7 after he was exposed to the world of DJing through a game called ‘DJ Hero’. He fell in love with DJing before he even had his first decks, and so saved up what little pocket money he had to buy a cheap controller so he could start his journey as a real DJ. He continues his journey to this day, and the love for his craft continues. Dander has had a very rough ‘career’ as a DJ. Ever since he started, he has always struggled to find any form of an audience. Most people Dander knew were very unsupportive of him which led to him taking most of his journey alone, as the handful of people who supported him had no knowledge of the DJ world whatsoever. This meant that he had to teach himself. Dander’s age is also often a big hindrance, as most places where DJs play are usually restricted to over 18’s. This meant that Dander took up music production at the age of 11, to try and get noticed through his tracks rather than his DJ sets. Through his time practising and dedication, Dander has developed a very unique style of DJing and production. His DJ sets are filled with mashups and many other live techniques that help to bring a breath of fresh air to any mix he makes. His tracks are also a breath of fresh air to Tech House music, featuring very groovy beats and infectious melodies or vocals that just make you want to dance. He also likes to use many production techniques to create interesting effects and sounds, which gives his tracks some variety over other artists, as well as showcasing his technical abilities and experience with DAWs. Despite all the hardships, Dander has been seeing some minor successes recently. He has recently signed his first original track titled ‘Come around’ to Darkest Before Dawn Records, and another EP, titled ‘I Want You’ to LSA Records. He has also gained a small fanbase on his Instagram where he uploads many of his live mashups and often does live streams to a small online audience. To this day, Dander is still improving his skills day by day. He hopes that he will be able to build a larger audience for himself, but up until that day, there is nothing that will stop his passion.
